Streaming services cannot monopolize the entertainment industry
Untitled_Artwork.jpeg

At Scot Scoop, all editors must produce at least one editorial per semester, reflecting the editorial board's opinions. For my first editorial, I chose to write about the exploitative nature of the streaming industry and how streaming giants shouldn't be able to monopolize content. I explore various aspects of the streaming industry, comparing it to its predecessor, cable networks, and how each situation was handled. Overall, I liked writing this article as it allowed me to express an opinion while informing people about the topic.

Politics: Issues that matter

During my second year at Scot Scoop, myself and a few other editors came together to cover significant topics in the 2024 election while also connecting it to our city. Over a series of four articles, we aimed to educate our audience on prevalent issues such as reproductive rights, environmental policy, cost of living, and gun rights in context of the larger San Carlos/Belmont area. We tried our best to provide an objective perspective on the matters, including varying opinions and sources for research. Explore each story below!
