Initially, I was still deciding about being a journalist. However, after experiencing my first year with Scot Scoop, I discovered a newfound interest in making an impact through my writing. After publishing my first feature story, I felt the power and effect I had with my voice. It sparked a larger interest in journalism, driving me to continue with the Scot Scoop program. ​

 

Going into the next year as an editor, I was excited to be in a leadership role while also continuing to write. At first, I struggled with managing editor responsibilities; however, once I found a balance, my experience at Scot Scoop was great. As I continue to develop as a student journalist, I look forward to new opportunities and working in a creative environment where I am able to express my voice.
